“Nature is a difficult Category because a “London” element must be present in the photograph. This image instantly caught everyone’s eyes and was an absolute favourite. There is stunning Nature in London, everywhere. Green fields where sheep eat grass are so close, yet so far. This arm length closeness to nature is felt by the short distance between the photographer and the sheep, and emphasized by the wide angle lens. In the distance, an obelisk reminder of geographical location, yes, this is London. Apart from aesthetically pleasing qualities, the metaphorical representation of the sheep, regarded as easily swayed or led, with Canary Wharf business district in the background incites interpretation. Is the sheep sticking out the tongue or just posing for the portrait?”
